Highest yields in the best fields.
Following the introduction of the CLIMACONTROL3 research program, which increases the safety of maize production in drought conditions, KWS has launched another program in maize production “Highest yields in the best fields” called PLUS4GRAIN. This program provides a variety of solutions for farmers, based on optimizing input in intensive production conditions, through an extensive network of test fields from continental to Mediterranean climate, in which KWS experts evaluate the behavior of hybrids in breeding conditions that allow high yields. Hybrids from the PLUS4GRAIN group have the ability to give higher grain yields in optimal production conditions in which yields exceeding 10 t / ha are obtained.
KWS has identified genetic sources that provide a better response to various parameters that affect yield. Yield increase is possible if one or more than three parameters are favored: number of grains per plant, number of plants and weight of 1000 grains. Intensive hybrids have pronounced these yield components, which gives them reserves for better results when the conditions of the production environment are more favorable.
